Terms of Service
Effective 12 September 2026
1. Who we are
Prompto is operated by Cypher AI (ABN 84 678 167 443), and “we”, “us” and “our” mean that business. By creating an account or using Prompto you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, don’t use the service.
2. What Prompto does
Prompto scores and ranks prompts, returning a rating, an explanation and a suggested rewrite. Those outputs are generated by language models and are opinions, not guarantees. We don’t promise a scored prompt will perform better, and you remain responsible for reviewing anything you use.
3. Your account
You need a working email address, and you must keep your password and any two-factor codes secure. Accounts are personal — don’t share credentials. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has access.
4. Free and paid plans
Without an account you get a small number of runs. With a free account you get a monthly allowance. Prompto Pro costs A$2.95 per month including GST, billed to your payment method on the same day each month, and renews automatically until you cancel. Current allowances are shown in the app and may change with notice under clause 7.
5. Cancelling
You can cancel at any time from your account page — no email, no phone call, no retention process. Cancelling turns off auto-renewal and takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for.
You keep full access until that date, and you will not be charged again. You can resume auto-renewal any time before the period ends.
6. Refunds
Because you keep access for the remainder of a period you have paid for, we don’t ordinarily refund the unused part of a month.
This does not limit your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded. If something goes wrong, you may be entitled to a refund or other remedy, and nothing in these terms reduces that. If you think you have been charged in error, contact us at support@prompto.biz and we will look into it.
7. Changes to price or plans
We may change prices or what a plan includes. If a change disadvantages you, we will give you at least 30 days’ notice by email before it takes effect, and you may cancel before then so the change never applies to you.
8. Third-party AI providers, and what happens to your prompts
Scoring a prompt means sending its text to a third-party AI provider for processing. We don’t store the prompts you score.
The included model runs on a provider’s free tier, and free tiers commonly reserve the right to use submitted content to improve their services, including human review. Don’t paste anything confidential into that lane. Use your own API key for material you need kept private, and check that provider’s terms.
9. Using your own API key
You may supply your own provider key. It is stored in your browser and sent with each request — we never store it on our servers. Usage on your key is billed to you by that provider under their terms, and keeping it secure and within your own quota is your responsibility.
10. Who owns what
You keep your prompts and the outputs you receive. We claim no ownership over what you paste in or what comes back, and we don’t use your prompt content to train anything of ours. We keep ownership of Prompto itself — the software, the scoring rubric and the branding.
Prompts you save to your library are stored against your account so they follow you between devices, and are deleted when you delete your account. If you use Prompto without an account they stay in your browser instead. You can export a copy at any time.
11. Acceptable use
Don’t use Prompto to break the law, infringe someone’s rights, or attack the service — including automated abuse, circumventing usage limits, or probing our infrastructure. Don’t submit other people’s personal information without a proper basis for doing so.
12. Availability
We aim to keep Prompto running but don’t guarantee uninterrupted service. It depends on third-party providers, and we may need to suspend it for maintenance. Where a paid feature is unavailable for a meaningful period, contact us.
13. Suspending or closing accounts
We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms. Except where the breach is serious or we are legally required to act immediately, we will tell you first and give you a reasonable chance to fix it. You can close your own account at any time from the account page.
14. Liability
Nothing here excludes, restricts or modifies any guarantee, right or remedy under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded. Where the law allows us to limit liability, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.
We are not liable for outcomes arising from how you use a scored or rewritten prompt — that judgement remains yours.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change materially affects your rights we will give reasonable notice by email before it takes effect, and continuing to use Prompto after that date means you accept the updated terms. If you don’t, you may cancel.
16. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, and you and we submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of its courts. The Australian Consumer Law applies regardless of this clause.
